Amazing Teacher and Person
I worked with Melanie in her past professional life and most recently re-connected with her through her amazing fitness classes. She is a wonderful teacher and motivator. She is able to structure her classes so that participants of all fitness levels get the best workout. She is positive and motivates you throughout the class . Her techniques are varied so you never get bored. Expect to work on muscles you never knew you had. Melanie is a first class person and she will make you feel like you are her most important client. She truly cares about people. I cannot recommend Melanie enough.
Holistic culinary delights
Among her many fitness and health-oriented talents, Melanie is also a first-class holistic chef. Her delicious creations are chock full of nutrition. She makes everything from scratch using mostly local, seasonal, farm-fresh ingredients and goes to great lengths to source only the best. The same loving attention is devoted to every detail in her cooking from beginning to end. Her dishes are mainly plant-based whole foods and present a symphony of flavors, colours and textures. Légumes, grains, nuts and seeds are soaked and sprouted which makes them enzyme-rich and easily digestible. My husband and I feasted on her ratatouille provençale, shepherds pie and apple dessert baked to perfection, filled with walnuts and topped with a drizzle of maple syrup. Whatever Melanie creates is energizing, health-enhancing and mouthwateringly delicious, a real treat for the eyes, the taste buds and the soul.
I met Melanie in September 2017 in Cabarete, my happy place where I’ve been flying to from nyc a dozen times in the past five years to reconnect with myself, nature and to practice yoga and kitesurf. It was the very beginning of a year off to regain my physical and mental health, reset boundaries, deepen my yoga practice and explore what else could this life be. Meeting Melanie at the beginning of this journey was a blessing. I was stunned by the creativity of her yoga classes and how it challenged me in a positive way. Her calmness and happiness was communicative and makes being around her so enjoyable. We bonded over passion for yoga, nutrition and natural medicine. Melanie encouraged me to pursue an in-depth yoga teacher training experience in Sicily, southern Italy, which I ended up doing in 2019. It has been such a deep and rewarding five months that I will never forget; it has put me on a beautiful personal path. Amazing Yoga with Mel
My family and I, all different levels and abilities, Had the pleasure of taking yoga classes with Melanie while vacationing at Natura Cabana in the DR. It was one of the best experiences we had, not only because of her interesting, creative flow classes, but also her soothing and calming energy she brought to the classes. It felt healing hearing her words of inspiration, her attentiveness to breath work, and even introduced us to the forces of positive energy that we all can get in touch with. I spent a week with Mel in the Dominican Republic – personal training every morning and a group fitness class every evening. Knowledgeable and Caring
Mel was in charge of my 3 day fasting experience. Given it was my first fasting, I expected to starve and suffer. However, it was actually very tolerable and delicious thanks to Mel who was guiding me all three days and after and making my healthy and delectable juices and smoothies.
Mel is an amazing nutritionist who is very passionate about food and eating healthy and really cares for the outcome. She generously shares all her knowledge but doesn’t have know-it- all attitude and is constantly learning. She is a happy, positive and sincere person and being around her was a pleasure by itself.

Wonderful Instructor and Wonderful Person
We have been blessed to have Mel as our fitness class instructor at Extreme Hotel in Cabarete, Dominican Republic for the past 6 months or so. Mel is one of the best instructors that I have ever trained with. As tough as her classes are, I look forward to training with her everyday. Her daily classes are structured, well planned, different everyday, challenging, fun and deliver results. Mel is positive and motivating. She has a wealth of knowledge regarding positive life changes. I highly recommend joining one of her fitness camps at Extreme Hotel. It will be one of the best gifts you can give yourself. Mel has become a dear friend who I highly respect and enjoy spending time with.
Unique training methods and never same yoga classes!
Mel never gives up on me. Training is hard for me, but she found ways to help me to improve my straight and move more. She helps me with private training, nutrition and meditation. You never find her training boring, always different! She is available for online training which I love when she is away. She is professional, unique and full with energy!!
It all started with a Little Chat about the Yoga classes offered @xtrem Hotel Cabarete : I met Mel a Sunday afternoon in the gym … we talked about Yoga Fitness and the Island Life.
I went back the next evening joining her FitNess class.
After I decided to start my journey back to myself thanks to Mel : she was my personal trainer, holistic nutritionist and Yoga therapist. Every single day we met for whatever kind of workout through ten days.
I’m grateful and thankful for her support, patience, Love and encouragement she shares with everyone around her.
Back home now I miss her // but I’m back in December.
A must do class!!
I went to Mel’s class for about a month and it’s just awesome. During my period in the island, I was able to increase my endurance and fitness level thanks to the class. Mel, is highly knowledgeable and is not shy to share what she knows. Very helpful. The cherry on top is that Mel is super patient. If you forget a movement of a certain exercise, she would not hesitate to show you once more with a smile on her face. Which is awesome!

If I their is one class I take at every opportunity is that lead by Melanie. She creates a natural flow between poses like no other guide I have experienced. She keeps me interested, mindful and challenged throughout the session. It is immediately obvious that she is a gifted guide and has a true passion for not only yoga but also for helping people be their personal best. It is immediately evident that for Melanie this is not a job, it is a way of life for her. I encourage you to give yourself the gift a class led by Melanie. What makes you vulnerable makes you beautiful.
Melanie lead me through twenty yoga practices over ten days during my stay in the Dominican Republic, no two classes were the same and each one offered exactly what I hope for in a practice. While I very much enjoy the physical aspects of a challenging yoga practice I am always especially grateful when the instructor can get in my head with a little piece of wisdom, or remind me of a healthy perspective. Melanie is a competent and skilled instructor second and a beautiful spirit first. There is an air of vulnerability about her that makes the wisdom she shares easy to relate to and to receive. She can and will lift your spirit and lead you smoothly through each vinyasa. Melanie lead our yoga practices in an open-air studio that over-looked a caribbean beach (paradise right?) and what I found extremely impressive was that her instruction never detracted or distracted from the natural beauty all around us, on the contrary I felt her classes were perfectly attuned to our environment and elevated the overall experience. Thank you Melanie for adding value to the love I have for yoga!
I love Melanie’s yoga and fitness classes!
While preparing for my YTT I went everyday to Mel’s yoga classes for 30 days. she’s such an amazing guide! her yoga is a gift, no class was the same, she challenges everyone on their individual level. I didn’t get once tired of it in all 30 days. she puts great effort in her classes and includes asana of course but as well the other limbs of yoga, pranayama and meditation.
I also love her fitness class! again, no class is the same and her energy and versatility is astonishing.
she’s also a big source of knowledge when it comes to nutrition and healthy lifestyle. I could easily talk hours with her about these topics. her knowledge is incredible!
