Edmonton
Loved the fact that I could get a beer with breakfast, so I did just that only because I could. The bartender in training who served me will turn 18 in 4 days to be exact. She was extremely kind, as everyone was at Edmonton airport, and although I enjoy all the people along my travels, this one meant a little more. Reading “Wishes Fulfilled” by Dr. Wayne Dyer, I finished off with this line before landing, “and that universal mind will also offer me the right people, events and circumstances guiding me on this spiritual path of extraordinary higher awareness.”
So getting back to my soon to be bartender, who just finished high school has had her own business for the past 4 years. She has horses where she teaches riding and works with another medical professional in the psychology field, running a business where they help people of all ages with behavioural problems and associate them with horses that have similar issues. She said that animals take on people’s energy. Which I whole heartedly agree with, why else do people say that dog owners resemble their dog? She continued to explain that if the problematic horse is introverted, the horse will take on the energy as it’s own and develop either an ulcer or some kind of physical ailment. If the horse is extroverted then it will act out throwing tantrums and ADD like behaviours. One form of treatment for either is the association of the two. The combination of the right type of energy to create balance. Dr. Wayne Dyer also mentioned Anita Moorjani, in his book, who had Hodgkin’s Lymphoma and fell into a coma. Doctors had said she would not make it past 36 hours. Mrs.Moorjani had a near death experience which lead her to the miraculous healing of her condition in just days. She said, “I was shown how illnesses start on an energetic level before they become physical. I then understood that when people have medical treatments for illnesses, it rids the illness only from their body but not from their energy, so the illness returns.” As my soon to be bartender said that horses and humans can change each other’s behavioural patterns through their energies, I started to see the connection. I found it very interesting, that here I was learning this from a book and she was learning it straight from her life experience. She definitely found her passion/purpose and is living it. A spiritual person by nature.
Our conversation then broadened to the inevitable. Men and relationships. She told me about a guy she dated who left her for a model. A guy who liked to party. She brushed it off and said that she knows its not going to last between them and if he wanted to leave her for a few month relationship with someone else, then no hard feelings. She had a genuine smile, with no pain or regret in her eyes. She said for six months she did not talk to him, until she was ready and healed. Now he calls her in the middle of the night sometimes, because of his drinking problem and she is his only rock so to say. She realized that she can’t help him with her words until he is the one who wants to change on his own. Until then she will be there for him, but it is not her problem. This, all coming from an almost 18 year old girl who chooses to go horse riding rather than partying with her friends. She said her friends are just people who are not self-aware. As I stood there with my beer at way too early in the morning I realized that I just got a lesson with this encounter. I held out my hand to finally introduce myself as the loud speaker in the airport called for me to hurry my sweet little toosh to gate 80…Immediately! I wished her well as I started to run to my gate. I will never know her name, but I will never forget our encounter.
